The Dalai Lama is often regarded as a charismatic speaker, winning many awards and having many titles bestowed upon him. His ideas were always one of peace.
He has acquired over 150 awards and honours in total in recognition for his ideas for peace, compassion, and inter-religion understanding. In 1989, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway. He led a collaboration between Buddhists monks and scientists to help people achieve internal peace, which in turn helped introduce modern science and scientific ideas into Tibet.
